Louie Season 1

TV Show Destination Site and Interactive Map

To get viewers hyped for Louie, a new sitcom based on the life of stand-up comedian Louis C.K., FX Networks approached BLITZ to design a destination site that enables fans to keep up with Louie by referencing the Episode Guide’s series info and weekly synopses, accessing video clips of exclusive previews and extra scenes, reading production blogs and engaging with others in the Louie community forum. To enhance the user experience, promote return visits and drive tune-in, we created additional behind-the-scenes featurettes, such as Louie’s recent stand-up comedy shows and clips of his actual life in the Big Apple.

What truly sets Louie’s microsite apart from the multitude of others we created for FX is its special feature, “Louie’s New York,” which gives viewers a unique introduction to the show’s Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, Director, Editor and shining star. This interactive map contains Louie’s 12 favorite Manhattan spots hand-picked by the comedian himself, complete with his personal descriptions and links to external sites, such as Yelp, Foursquare and the venue’s official homepage.

To match the show’s distinct style of vintage-type black and white photography with bold-colored doodles, we worked with Studio FX, who created the original Louie assets. We then strategically constructed the map’s navigation to provide a fluid user experience and quick loading time when transitioning between specific map locations or New York City boroughs. Our combined use of creative content and strategic technology helped build awareness while making the site an insightful extension of FX’s new comedy.
