Challenge
As Microsoft moved forward with their new corporate brand positioning — Your Potential. Our Passion. they were looking to reinvigorate their image as creative and technological pioneers who have never stopped pursuing innovations since their inception. BLITZ was tasked with turning their vision into an online experience that would excite pragmatic consumers and discerning technophiles. The campaign had to not only capture audience analytics, but had to also gather unique insights that would allow Microsoft to measure perception shifts among its varying audience groups.
Solution
BLITZ created a branded experience that showcased Microsoft’s then-current and future innovations, all of which highlighted the positive effects Microsoft technology has on consumers’ everyday lives. Every element of the experience was finely filmed and crafted by BLITZ from cameos of Microsoft innovators introducing projects to a moving narrative by actor William H. Macy. To ensure the campaign’s success, BLITZ worked closely with the Microsoft team to track brand perceptions through targeted user surveys and a media buy that helped increase site traffic. Over the course of the campaign we made several updates, optimizing performance every step of the way.
Results
The experience gave visitors a never-before-seen look inside one of the world’s most revered companies. The story-driven structure and high production value received much praise at Microsoft, and led to new partnerships on several other important initiatives. Some of the most impressive aspects of the project were the results from the user surveys, revealing the campaign’s success in increasing positive perceptions of the brand by 12 percent.
